Former President Barack Obama doesn’t plan to sit idly by if his successor does what everyone expects him to do.
It’s likely that President Donald Trump will cancel the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program on Tuesday, although with a six-month delay to give Congress time to act.
Obama had suggested at the end of his tenure that he would be morally compelled to speak up if the future of DACA was under threat.
In his last press conference, Obama said he would speak up if “I think our core values may be at stake.”
He went on to explain what that meant, making it clear DACA was part of those “core values."
