The News Sources Americans Trust the Most and the Least

In our current atmosphere where charges of media bias are being leveled from both sides of the political spectrum and the president of the United States repeatedly makes accusations of "Fake News," which news sources do Americans trust most and which do they trust least? The British newsmagazine The Economist was the most trusted news source in the U.S. in a new survey from the University of Missouri's Reynolds Journalism Institute, followed in second place by public TV. News agency Reuters, the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation), and NPR (National Public Radio) came in at third, fourth and fifth. Least trusted was the politically leftist website Occupy Democrats, followed by Buzzfeed, far-right website Breitbart News, social media, and President Trump himself.
