HIGHLIGHT: Gay SA Woman Gives Her Perspective on Rainbow Crosswalk

One of our listeners called in to give her perspective on the rainbow crosswalk as a gay San Antonio woman.

"We don't need a special side walk."

City Council today gave preliminary approval to a proposal to construct a brightly colored 'rainbow crosswalk' at an intersection in an LGBT friendly neighborhood just north of downtown, News Radio 1200 WOAI reports from City Hall.

Approval by the Council Governance Committee is the first step in a long process that downtown Councilman Roberto Trevino says will culminate with the crosswalk at North Main and Evergreen being repainted by November or December. (1200 WOAI)

Other cities have similar crosswalks in place, like Atlanta, as explained in a local news story below.
