Wisconsin Company Becoming First in U.S. to Microchip Employees

A Wisconsin company is becoming the first in the U.S. to microchip its employees. Three Square Market, which designs software for break room markets in office complexes, will offer employees the opportunity to voluntarily have a microchip implanted in their hands, which can be used to get in the front door, log onto their computers and buy market kiosk items just buy holding up their hand to the scanner.

More than 50 Three Market Square employees are having the devices implanted starting next week. The data on the chips, which are about the size of a grain of rice and are implanted between the thumb and forefinger, is encrypted and secure and there's no GPS tracking. A handful of companies in other countries have already started offering microchipping to employees.
