A noose was found yesterday (May 31st) in an exhibit at the Smithsonian's new National Museum of African American History and Culture, which opened in Washington, D.C., last fall. Visitors at the museum saw the small noose lying on the floor in an exhibit on the segregation era. The U.S. Park Police are investigating the incident, which is the second time in less than a week that a noose has been found on or near Smithsonian museum grounds on the National Mall. A noose was found hanging from a tree outside the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden last Friday (May 26th).
