Stun gun company Taser announced yesterday (April 5th) that it's offering free body cameras and a year's worth of free access to the company's cloud storage service for bodycam videos and other media, Evidence.com, to all police departments in the U.S. The company -- which also announced that it's changing its name to "Axon" after its line of bodycams -- is already the largest seller by far of body cameras in the country. Police have grown to embrace the idea of body cameras as a way to protect themselves against false accusations of misconduct, while those who advocate against police violence like them for being able to help hold officers accountable for any wrongdoing.
