The Greater Scranton YMCA in Pennsylvania has stopped showing cable news channels at its gym because it was causing near-fights among people who were there working out. So instead of CNN, Fox News or MSNBC, the TV screens in the gym now show stations like ESPN and The Weather Channel. CEO Trish Fisher said in a letter to members that the decision had been made after several incidents in which political discussions escalated, with one almost ending in a locker room fight. She said the decision is about safety.
