Flood Watch Continues Through Friday for San Antonio Area

A Flood Watch continues for the San Antonio area through Friday evening.

Thunderstorms could bring widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches. Isolated areas could receive 6 to 8 inches or more.

Friday will bring cloudy skies and an 80% chance of rain. Heavy rain will remain possible, especially during the first half of the day, before patchy showers continue into the evening. High temperatures will range from 77 to 81 degrees, with north-northeast winds from 6 to 12 mph.

Thursday's rain led to at least one high water rescue in the area, according to one televised report.

Several San Antonio-area and Hill Country schools are changing schedules as heavy rain and flooding continue across South Texas. Districts are watching road conditions and low-water crossings closely, with some campuses delaying operations or canceling activities. Parents should check directly with their district before heading out this morning.

Current changes reported:

  • San Antonio ISD: After-school activities canceled Thursday.
  • Alamo Colleges District: Operations delayed until 10 a.m. Thursday, with evening classes, events and operations after 5 p.m. canceled.
  • Northside ISD: After-school activities canceled Thursday, except Learning Tree programs and varsity football games.
