With the midterms now just 32 days away, the Democrats are ramping up their talk about a 'blue wave'. Even here in Texas, and in the Texas House.
But some Republicans, including state representatives Mitch Little, and Katrina Pierson are pushing back, letting it be known that the GOP has no plans of 'moderating' their agenda.
"There's no reason in November, regardless of what happens, for Republicans to slow down or even pump the brakes even a little bit, because our voters have been speaking loudly, and very clearly over the last few sessions" said Pierson.
Republicans currently control the Texas House with a sizable advantage of 86-62.
"I'm not too concerned about anything changing, as far as Republicans go in the Texas House" Pierson told KTRH, "Even if there are a couple of seats lost, that's not going to change the momentum that we have, especially coming in from last session. We had a Speaker who did have Democrat support him, and we had one of the most conservative sessions we've had."
The plan is to continue that in 2027.
The next Texas Legislative Session begins on January 12, 2027.
