Will A High Transmission Line Cross Land Owned By A Chinese Businessman?

Texas energy regulators are set to decide on whether to approve a high transmission line that would run across or near, land owned by a Chinese businessman.

A Chinese businessman with with ties to the CCP and the Chinese government.

"They're planning to attack us on our own soil, so we shouldn't be making it easy for the Chinese to hit our grid, and put in a transmission line on land owned by someone who has shadowy connections with the regime" said China expert and author, Gordon Chang.

It's a legitimate concern, and a very real threat. The Chinese businessman is Sun Guangxin, who received national attention after buying a large amount of land near Laughlin Air Force Base.

"We have a number of indications that China plans to hit our grid, and also hit our other infrastructure" Chang told KTRH, "He does have contacts with the regime, We should be very careful."

Despite calls from several Texas lawmakers, the line was initially approved last month.

"I think they should locate this power line as far away as possible from this land, or even better yet, let's take that land away" noted Chang.

The PUCT commissioners are set to discuss the line today.
