15,000 CPS Customers Without Power as Storms Drop More Than 2" of Rain

Storms bringing wind and heavy rain have been pounding the South Texas area, with more than 15,000 electricity customers without power Saturday mid-afternoon.

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for northwest portions of Bexar County until 6 pm Saturday.

As much as 2 and a-half inches of rain were measured in the county, resulting in more than a dozen streets and roadways closed because of high water.

"CPS Energy teams are continuing to safely restore power to customers who remain without service," the company said Saturday afternoon.

"Flooded roads and hazardous conditions may impact crews’ ability to access certain areas, and restoration times may be extended as a result."
