All 3 Ex-SAPD Officers Found Not Guilty In Melissa Perez's Killing

A Bexar County jury has handed down a 'not guilty' verdict in the high-profile 2023 deadly police shooting of Melissa Perez.

The 3 ex- SAPD officers: Eleazar Alejandro, Alfred Flores and Nathaniel Villalobos went through a trial that lasted a week, over the shooting death of Melissa Perez, a 46 year Southwest Side woman, was killed in her apartment on June 23, of 2023, during what SAPD Chief William McManus called at the time, a mental health crisis.

Alejandro, who was initially charged with murder, aggravated assault and deadly conduct, was found not guilty.

Flores, who was also facing the same charges as Alejandro, was also found not guilty.

And Villalobos, who was found not guilty, was the lone ex-officer not facing a murder charge. He was initially looking at aggravated assault and deadly conduct charges.

The judge also officially dismissed any pending motions and closed the case.
