As the left-wing media continues to celebrate conservatives losing their majority on the Cy-Fair ISD school board, the big question in the aftermath is, what happened?
"Well, I don't think that having two conservatives in the same position is ever a winning strategy" said Denise Bell, Chair of Mom's for Liberty Harris County, "The conservatives definitely split the vote."
That was problem number one. The second is one that has become all too familiar for Republicans.
"Conservatives are not always good at turning out for these local elections, and we really have to change that because local elections really matter, school board elections really matter" Bell told KTRH, "And all conservatives need to be engaged, and become informed voters and plug in."
After holding a 6-1 majority, conservatives are now in the minority 4-3, facing a real possibility that the liberals will now try to implement socialism policies with their new power.
"Some conservatives feel like that at the federal level things are being handled, and they don't have to be as engaged perhaps at the local level, that is absolutely untrue" noted Bell.
Under Texas state law, school board positions are -supposed- to be nonpartisan. We shall see.
