About 200 members of the Texas National Guard are arriving in Chicago, Illinois, and are expected to begin their assignments as early as tomorrow.
Governor Greg Abbott, on X, wrote Tuesday afternoon that the "elite Texas National Guard are on the ground and ready to go."
The White House has said that National Guard members arriving in the Chicago area will be assigned to protect federal facilities as well as federal law enforcement personnel.
