Seven of the ten inmates who escaped a facility in New Orleans on Friday remain on the run.
Sheriff Susan Hutson said the prison break was discovered during a routine headcount, and was likely done with help from someone working in the jail. She says the inmates on the loose are considered armed and dangerous. Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick said one of the men was captured through the use of facial recognition technology.
One of the seven still on the run is charged with murder. The other inmates were in jail for domestic abuse and burglary, and law enforcement says it has "strong" and "active" leads on them as community tips flow in.
