Trump Admin Refers Letitia James for Possible Mortgage Fraud Charges

The Trump administration has referred New York Attorney General Letitia James to the Justice Department for possible prosecution over alleged mortgage fraud. Fox News contributor and legal analyst Jonathan Turley:

According to documents obtained by Fox News, James is accused of falsely claiming a Virginia home as her primary residence and listing her father as her husband to obtain better loan terms. The Federal Housing Finance Agency submitted the criminal referral Tuesday, citing falsified documents that may have allowed James to qualify for more favorable mortgages.

FHFA Director William Pulte says that James misrepresented the nature of at least two properties, including a ur-unit dwelling instead of five, potentially altering her loan eligibility.
