After being used by the Biden Administration to help more illegal aliens enter the country, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has repurposed the CBP One app to encourage those same illegal aliens to turn around and go home.

This is expected to greatly assist DHS officials, who will now be able to confirm when illegal aliens have self-deported.

Former immigration judge Art Arthur added that now, "We don't have to spend the time and the resources that it takes to locate them, arrest them, detain them, prosecute them, and then physically remove them."

According to Arthur, that whole process can often cost as much as $10,000 per illegal alien. He also added that this is safer for agents as well.

Arthur also went on to say that self-deporting creates an opportunity for former illegal aliens to reenter the country legally at a later date.

He said, "They can leave the United States, regularize their status, and come back in lawfully, so that they can become contributing members of our society."

According to Arthur, encouraging illegal aliens to leave voluntarily allows DHS to gain control over the immigration system while preserving limited resources like funds and personnel.

He expects that as many as half a million illegal aliens may self-deport.
