A man has died after a confrontation with a man who was trying to break into cars in the Houston Midtown area Saturday night.
Witnesses say a group of people were walking along Bagby Street near Webster south of Downtown Houston when they spotted a man trying to break into parked cars.
One man, 21-year-old Julian Comeaux, joined a friend in confronting the would-be car burglar, but that carbreaker pulled a gun on Julian and his friend, fired, and then ran off.
Julian was shot and killed, less than a week before he was to report for his first day in the United States Navy.
His friend was also shot but has been taken to a hospital and is said to be grieving but recovering.
Houston Police questioned witnesses to piece together what happened, and now they have a description of the shooter.
Authorities are now looking for that man.
