Video Shows Beaumont Basketball Brawl

Video has surfaced of a brawl on the court that started with a Tuesday night basketball game between Hull-Daisetta High School and Burkeville High School in the Beaumont area.

The video shows someone leaning over a rail to hit someone from the stands, which starts a fight that leads to chaos.

There were reports of more confrontations in the parking lot after the game was called off at the end of the first quarter.

Several parents ran down to the court to protect students, after someone, perhaps a student, left the stands for the court.

"The kid came down from the stands and started swinging and hitting one of our kids on the bench. That's when the brawl ensued. Little Dribblers kids were there. It happened right by them," Tim Bartram, the Hull-Daisetta ISD superintendent told TV station KFDM.

The superintendent of the other high school involved, Burkeville High, said he agreed with Mr. Bartram, and is conducting an investigation of his own.

"We're involved with law enforcement," Superintendent Bartram said, so there is a possibility that a criminal complaint could be made.
