Texas continues to push back against woke leftism and DEI in state colleges. In response, some professors have resigned, creating concerns about a potential mass exodus of professors from Texas. The good news is, that's probably not something you have to worry about.
Journalist Valerie Muñoz with the Texas Scorecard says that overall, the number of professors leaving isn't significant, and it's not affecting critical fields of study. She said, "I don't think we'll see this from the STEM side of things; maybe we'll see a small shift in the Liberal Arts faculties."
She said that this is actually a win for taxpayers, who don't want their money going to woke professors teaching woke classes. She said, "If professors want to teach DEI, Gender Studies, and all these different things, they can do that at private universities, or in another state."
Muñoz also says that even if the number of professors resigning starts to grow, Texas teaching jobs are in such high demand that our schools won't have any trouble replacing them. She said, "Academic competition is high, and this is a good thing. We can get the best professors in our universities, and we can be teaching foundational principles that will help the future of our Texas graduates."
