Crisis Mode: Dems, Media Sing With One Voice

Less than one month into the second term of President Donald Trump, and the left is already gone to crisis mode...literally. The crescendo of Democrats and mainstream media freaking out over Trump and Elon Musk's crackdown on government waste has become a choir, all singing the same phrase. Over the last week, dozens of Democrat lawmakers, left-wing activists, media anchors and analysts on networks like NBC and CNN have all used the words "constitutional crisis" to describe Trump's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

"It's like the memo went out this week, make sure you push those two words---constitutional crisis---as much as possible, all in an effort to gin up fear around what Donald Trump is rightfully doing," says Joe Concha, Fox News media analyst in a recent interview.

If there is a constitutional crisis taking place, some critics argue it's coming from the left pushing its version of a "living constitution" for decades. This week, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said unelected activist judges are the ones causing a constitutional crisis by constantly blocking Trump's executive actions.

When it comes to what Trump and Musk are doing, Concha notes they have strong public support with checks and balances in place. "This is what Donald Trump was elected on," he says. "It will go through the courts, it may even get to the Supreme Court at one point, but in the end it will be decided there. And it's not a constitutional crisis, if you listen to any reputable legal scholar or analyst."
