Two of the most wanted criminal illegal immigrants in Texas have been captured.
On Friday, the Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that Jorge Dionicio Hernandez, 33, was arrested in Houston and Omar David Zavala, 30, was taken into custody in Mesquite. The two are on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List.
Hernandez was taken into custody in Houston on Friday by Special Agents from DPS’ Criminal Investigations Division (CID), U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. He is a criminal illegal immigrant from Mexico who was wanted out of Harris County since January 2022 for indecency with a child by sexual contact.
Hernandez was convicted of multiple counts of driving while intoxicated in Harris County back in 2009 and was then removed from the United States. In July 2021, Houston Police arrested Hernandez for providing a false driver license/identification card.
A Crime Stoppers reward will also be paid in Hernandez’s arrest.
Zavala is a criminal illegal immigrant from El Salvador. Officials from multiple law enforcement agencies including DPS Special Agents and members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force located and arrested Zavala Friday in Mesquite, just east of Dallas.
Zavala had been wanted out of Harris County since 2022 for sexual assault, terroristic threat and obstruction/retaliation. He was also arrested multiple times in 2014 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The following year, he was removed from the U.S.
