Autumnal Surrender - a poem for the equinox

Autumnal Surrender

Summer fades, a breath slipping past,

Light and warmth withdrawing,

Heralding the quiet of Fall,

And Winter’s looming shadow.

The days contract,

While cold creeps softly in,

Darkness unfurls its wings.

Yet in this fleeting instant—

This still, perfect Now—

All is held in balance,

A sublime pause.

Light and Darkness,

Hope and Fear,

Pleasure and Pain,

Chaos and Serenity,

Laughter and Tears.

Koyaanisqatsi dissolves into Bliss.

In the twilight’s glow, the unseen stirs.

I lift my arms wide,

Eyes tracing the delirious sky,

Listening—

To the silent music of the spheres,

Harmonies untold.

And I am one—

With love,

With fear,

With joy and ache,

With the Yin and the Yang,

With the vast unknown.

I surrender,

To the Autumnal Equinox.
