Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's agenda on property tax cuts has the approval of the Texas Senate. Republicans and Democrats unanimously passed three bills on Wednesday that will increase tax breaks for homeowners and business owners while supporting public schools. Senate Bill 3 would raise the state's homestead exemption for school districts. Senate Bill 4 would increase public school funding by five-billion-dollars. Senate Bill 5 would cut business property taxes by more than a billion-dollars. The tax cut proposals will both go before voters.
