Governor Abbott says Texas is now busing illegal immigrants from the Mexican border to New York City. Abbott's office made the announcement on Friday, the same day the first bus arrived at the Big Apple. Texas has been offering bus rides for illegals to Washington, D.C. for several months. D.C. Muriel Bowser says the city is being overwhelmed. New York City Mayor Eric Adams is reacting with anger to the development. Abbott invited Bowser and Adams to tour the border today. Adams' office rejected the invitation

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is asking the federal government for help dealing with migrants bused up from Texas. Adams went after Texas Governor Greg Abbott in a tweet Sunday, accusing the Republican governor of using "innocent people as political pawns to manufacture a crisis." Adams added that New Yorkers are stepping up but said the city needs federal help in the way of money, technical assistance, and more. Abbott has said he's busing migrants to New York City and Washington, DC to protest President Biden's immigration policies.
