Fiesta Parades wrap tonight with Fiesta Flambeau

FIESTA® POOCH PARADE | ALAMO HEIGHTS SWIMMING POOL| 7:45 – 11 AM

Calling all pooches!! There’s nothing better than spending a Saturday morning with your favorite human on a 2.6 mile walk through the tree-lined streets of Alamo Heights. Therapy Animals of San Antonio proudly presents its 21st Annual Fiesta® Pooch Parade! Come early for exhibits and presentations that you and your human friend can enjoy! The ever-popular Canine Costume Contest starts at 8:15 a.m. and you must be registered to enter. If you love hanging out with your human and enjoy meeting other dogs, this event is for you. It will be a howling good time for both of you. Advance registration is $25 for individuals and $30 for families

TEXAS CORVETTE ASSOCIATION CAR SHOW | BOERNE MAIN PLAZA | 8 AM – 5 PM

If you enjoy classic cars, you will want to attend the Texas Corvette Association’s car show. This is an open car show (All Makes) with more than 35 separate classes of cars. The City of Boerne also offers great shopping and restaurants. Admission is free.

FIESTA® JAZZ BAND FESTIVAL | ST. MARY’S UNIVERSITY | 8 AM – 6 PM

The Fiesta Jazz Band Festival is San Antonio’s oldest educational jazz festival. We attract junior and senior high school jazz ensembles from Texas and neighboring states. Participants perform for criticism before a panel of renowned jazz clinicians. Trophies and awards are given for outstanding performances in various categories. Special jazz clinics take place through the day including a mid-day clinic by the Fiesta Jazz Artist. Past clinicians have included Dizzy Gillespie, Bob Mintzer, Gordon Goodwin, Hannibal Lokumbe, and Will Kennedy. Enjoy tomorrow’s future jazz artist performing for Fiesta.

FIESTA® WOMEN’S & CO-ED SOCCER TOURNAMENT | STAR SOCCER COMPLEX | 8 AM – 8 PM

The Women’s Soccer Association of San Antonio is proud to announce its 41st annual Fiesta Women’s and Co-Ed Soccer Tournament. Women and co-ed teams from Texas and other states compete at all levels. Food, beverages and t-shirts are for sale.

The Women’s Soccer Association consists of several divisions: Competitive, Recreation, Under 23, Over 30 and Co-ed. League games are played year-round. Fall and spring games are played Sundays, summer games during the week and Sundays and co-ed games Sunday afternoons. You may register year-round.

Admission is free for spectators; there is a registration fee for participating teams.

STARFISH DASH RUN/WALK | UT HEALTH | 8:30 – 11 AM

Join us for our 3rd Annual Chromosome 18 Starfish Dash 5K Run / Walk & Health and Wellness Fair bringing together health-minded people to run, walk, and participate in the 5K! The Starfish Dash helps children and families improve their health and quality of life through a morning of fun! This event features FREE health & wellness events including the SA Fitness in the Park bus, nutrition counseling, dentistry & health screenings, meditation, exercise, and a free kids 100 yd dash. The event also features free, healthy snacks and drinks, live music, folk dancing, SA Fire & Police Departments, and free community resources. Come and join us in this FREE community event for the whole family.

There is NO FEE to participate, but registration is required to participate in the 5K. Fundraising efforts are highly encouraged and appreciated in supporting Chromosome 18’s mission. Fundraising incentive levels start at just $25 for a Fiesta Medal & $50 limited-edition Starfish Dash t-shirt.

GROWING UP FEMALE | ST. PHILIP’S COLLEGE | 9 AM – 1:30 PM

The San Antonio Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will host its annual “Growing-Up” Female Workshop, designed specifically for teenage girls in grades 6 through 12. The workshop provides an enriching experience through motivational speakers, engaging activities and that all-important “girl talk” addressing critical issues young ladies are challenged with in this day and time. Admission is free.

SAN ANTONIO CACTUS & XEROPHYTE SOCIETY SHOW & SALE • SAN ANTONIO GARDEN CENTER, | 9 AM – 5 PM

Vendors with thousands of cacti, succulents, and pottery for sale. Cactus and succulent experts offering advice and information, view educational displays to increase your knowledge of cacti and succulents. Raffle plant drawings held every hour. Silent auctions of dish gardens, pottery, and related cactus and succulent items on Thursday and Friday. Live auctions of unique and landscape plants on Friday and Saturday at 2 pm. Purchase our special Fiesta medals at this official Fiesta Event! Join us and get STUCK on cactus and succulent plants.

KING WILLIAM FAIR | KING WILLIAM HISTORICAL NEIGHBORHOOD | 9 AM – 6 PM

The King William Fair is a family fair with art and craft vendors, live music and dance on five stages, food and beverage booths, a Kids Kingdom play area and a small but quirky parade, all on the streets of the historic district with its stately homes and gracious gardens. Admission is $15; children 12 and under are free. Bag Restrictions Apply – see event website for more details.

THE CIRCLE FOR LIFE MOTOR RALLY | JAVELINA HARLEY-DAVIDSON | 10 AM

Celebrate National Donate Life month April 27, 2019, with a ride from the hill country, past the historic missions, and into the “heart” of Fiesta. This SAPD escorted motorcycle ride will leave from Javelina Harley-Davidson at 10 am and end at Fiesta de los Reyes in historic Market Square, where lunch and parking will be provided. Fiesta attire encouraged. Ride registration for adults is $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

BLAST FROM FIESTA PAST | WITTE MUSEUM | 10AM – 5PM

It was the spring of 1969 and San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration captured the spirit of the day. Fiesta gowns from the Order of the Alamo’s Court of Time and Space will have you reaching for the stars with designs inspired by the science and technology that helped the United States put a man on the moon in July of that year. Visitors are invited to separate science fact from science fiction with fiesta gowns and costumes inspired by comic books, film and art. From the Queen of Soul to El Rey Feo, 1969 was also a time when Fiesta royal traditions began to evolve to reflect the atmosphere of the civil rights movement and embrace the beauty and diversity of San Antonio. Learn how Fiesta royalty in 1969 helped pave the way for fiesta royalty today.

FESTIVAL DE ANIMALES | SAN ANTONIO ZOO | 10 AM – 5 PM

We’re celebrating the animals, culture, and food of Latin America! Take a tour of South America during this day-time event. Started in 2016, Festival de Animales highlights the Zoo’s conservation efforts in Latin America and educates guests on the animals native to Latin American that call the San Antonio Zoo home. Amazing up-close animal interactions, culinary delights, entertainment, and authentic merchandise from Latin America are sure to delight while guests immerse themselves in South American culture. A visit to Festival de Animales will help further the zoo’s vision to secure a future for wildlife through loving, engaging with, acting for, and protecting animals and the places they live.

FIESTA® DE LOS REYES AT MARKET SQUARE | 4PM-MIDNIGHT

Combine Rey Feo–a cherished Fiesta icon, with Market Square–a historic center in the heart of the city, and San Antonio gets 10 days of free, quality entertainment! This is one of the largest FREE Fiesta celebrations and has something in store for the entire family! Experience daily live entertainment from multiple stages featuring a variety of music, from the best in Tejano. Cumbia, and Conjunto to rocking cover bands! Enjoy Fiesta staples such as funnel cakes, agua fresca, turkey legs, fajitas and much, much more. Your taste buds will have a Fiesta as you enjoy food from over 30 delicious food booths.

UNITED WAY KIDS FESTIVAL | LOCKWOOD PARK | 11 AM – 2 PM

United Way Kids Festival is a free, community event for families in San Antonio and Bexar County. Over 65 booths (non-profits, school districts and city services) will provide information, activities, and entertainment focusing on the celebration and promotion of early childhood development. There will be a large variety of activities being offered for children of all ages. Kids Festival will have an event stage hosting numerous entertainment acts along with mascot characters. City officials will welcome participants and attendants throughout the day. Admission is free.

FIESTA® SAN FERNANDO • SAN FERNANDO CATHEDRAL | 11 AM – 1 AM

Each year the cathedral hosts Fiesta San Fernando, a celebration of family, food and fun. Live entertainment daily and beautiful arts and crafts booths for your enjoyment.

Take part in a Fiesta event rooted deep in the city’s history, where “fiestas” started more than 260 years ago.

10TH STREET RIVER FESTIVAL | 10, 10TH ST .| 12PM – 12:30 AM

Make our festival your family event for Fiesta 2019! Thanks to the Museum Reach improvements on the San Antonio River, the 10th Street River Festival has truly lived up to its name. Enjoy Fiesta on the beautiful, historic grounds of the VFW Post 76. The 19th Century mansion is located on 10th Street and B Avenue, and is a place for great fun, food, cold drinks and entertainment that exemplifies the cultural diversity of San Antonio. With live music being the focus, musical groups will entertain Fiesta revelers with the sounds of Tejano, Oldies, Blues, and Country Western. VFW Post 76 is the oldest functioning VFW in Texas and proceeds from this event support maintenance of the century-old building, renovation projects, veteran programs, and scholarships for local high school students.

FIESTA® FANDANGO RUN | PARADE ROUTE, CORNER OF BROADWAY AND GRAYSON | 6:30 PM

Come run or walk as you are cheered on by thousands of spectators. This 2.6 mile route preceeds the Fiesta Flambeau Parade. Run in costume or just come out and run with family and friends. This is a family-friendly event. Entry fee required.

FIESTA FLAMBEAU® PARADE | PARADE ROUTE | 7 – 10:30 PM

The 2019 Fiesta Fleambeau® Parade will celebrate with “Reflections of Music Past” as the parade theme. It is the largest illuminated night parade and the highlight of Fiesta®. The Fiesta Flambeau® Parade continues to light up the streets of downtown San Antonio along the 2.6 mile route and is viewed by an estimated 750,000+ spectators and antoher 1.5 million television audience.

Leading our parade for its 71st year is our premier band, The University of Texas Longhorn Band, followed by spectacular themed floats, marching units, local, out of town and out of state bands, dance groups, equestrian units and many other attractions that create a memorable night of illuminated entertainment

FIESTA® POPS | THE TOBIN CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS | 8 PM

Our annual Fiesta Pops concert features the music, dance and culture of Mexico and Latin America through the local talents of San Antonio. Enjoy the beautiful sounds of Campanas de America and a colorful corp of dancers with the Guadalupe Dance Company. This program is sure to get you in the Fiesta spirit!

FIESTA CARNIVAL | ALAMODOME | 11AM- Midnight

Thrills and chills fill the air at one of the best carnivals in the land. Glittering lights, exciting rides and a wide assortment of foods in the heart of San Antonio make the Carnival a perennial favorite of Fiesta®-goers. Revenue from this event helps support the activities of Fiesta® San Antonio
