1 Suspect Still At Large In UnitedHealthcare CEO Murder

As of midnight last night, the suspect who’s accused of shooting and killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson was still at large. New details emerged throughout the day yesterday showing progress in the search for the unidentified man. The NYPD released the first unmasked pictures of an individual wanted for questioning, which were taken at a hostel in the Manhattan Valley area on the Upper West Side. Images were also taken of the suspect about 20 minutes before the shooting at a nearby Starbucks, where he paid with cash. The police chief in Maple Grove, Minnesota where Thompson lived said his department had not received reports of threats against the CEO.

2 Trump Assassination Attempt Hearing Erupts Into Screaming Match

A screaming match broke out during a House task force hearing investigating the assassination attempt against President-elect Donald Trump yesterday. Texas Rep. Pat Fallon was questioning Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe about his attendance at a 9/11 memorial service, accusing Rowe of putting the protection detail for President Joe Biden out of position by his choice of seats. Rowe responded that the picture Fallon had on an easel to his left didn’t show the full detail there to protect the president. Fallon replied by accusing Rowe of attending the memorial for publicity to audition for the job of USSS director. Rowe exploded at that, saying “I actually responded to ground zero. I was there going through the ashes of the World Trade Center. I was there at Fresh Kills,” then added, “Do not invoke 9/11 for political purposes…you are out of line, congressman.” The chair of the committee eventually restored order, and Rowe said that the agency had already made changes to ensure that another assassination attempt doesn’t happen.

3 Tsunami Warning For Northern California Coast Lifted After Yesterday's 7.0 Earthquake

What could have been a catastrophic situation in northern California wound up not bringing about the major problem that was possible. A tsunami warning issued after a 7.0 earthquake struck off the coast of California near Petrolia was canceled just before noon. Evacuation orders were issued for Berkeley, California as part of the tsunami warning, but residents were able to return once the alert was canceled. More than 30 aftershocks were reported from the quake, but there were no detailed reports of injuries, major damage or landslides due to the earthquakes as of last night.
