Brenda's going on a Snipe hunt for more votes in Broward County

Brenda Snipes might want to remove "Broward County Elections Supervisor" from her Linkedin profile. In fact, she might want to just delete her profile altogether. And while she's at it, maybe change her name. Because things aren't going well on her watch.

All signs are pointing toward Snipes getting removed from office by Governor Rick Scott or his likely successor, Ron DeSantis. That is if Florida ever finishes counting its votes. Or recounting them. Or using a show of hands. Or however, Florida does elections. Seriously, every election is like a Dave Barry novel down there.

Florida is in the middle of three statewide recounts for the U.S. Senate and governor's races, plus the one that really has the nation on the edge of its seat… State Agriculture Commissioner.

You know it's bad when a Democrat starts losing support from fellow Democrats as Snipes has. One state Senate Democrat, who declined to be named, told Politico he hopes Snipes quits soon, "Otherwise, she's a goner."

Snipes is accused of a laundry list of no-no's including in 2016, mailing an unknown number of absentee ballots that left off a proposed state constitutional amendment. Oops, my bad, I forgot to include that state constitutional amendment thingy. Also in 2016, posting early voting numbers online, half an hour before polls closed, and opening ballots in private. After last week's election, in the middle of the night, her office suddenly uploaded tens of thousands of new ballots that caused Governor Scott's margin to fall below a half percent lead in his Senate race against Bill Nelson. That triggered a manual recount. There are a lot more problems with the Broward County elections office, but I have a finite amount of time on this program.

If nothing else, it's clear that Snipes is guilty of incompetence with the missed deadlines and discovering ballots in the couch cushions.

If nothing else, it's clear that Snipes is guilty of incompetence with the missed deadlines and discovering ballots in the couch cushions. As County Elections Supervisor, you have one big event to prepare for every two years. It's like Santa Claus screwing up Christmas Eve.
