Astros, Gurriel Come To Agreement

Seattle Mariners v Houston Astros

The Astros and Yuli Gurriel are avoiding arbitration with a one-year contract for $8.3 million. USA Today first reported the contract, which includes 250-thousand-dollars in award bonuses. Gurriel will be a free agent after the 2020 season. He originally would have been eligible for arbitration at that time. Gurriel was one of the best offensive first basemen in the American League in 2019, with a career-high 31 homers and 40 doubles.
