Innis Gaines intercepted K.J. Costello with two minutes left and TCU held on to edge Stanford, 39-37, in the Valero Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. Cole Bunce nailed the go-ahead field goal a minute earlier for the 11-and-3 Horned Frogs. Kenny Hill accounted for 374 total yards and three scores for TCU. Heisman runner-up Bryce Love ran for 145 yards and two touchdowns for Stanford, including a 69-yard rushing score. Costello tossed three touchdowns and two picks as the Cardinal end the season at 9-and-5.
