1 President Trump Tells President Of Russia "Vladimir, STOP!" After Latest Attack On Ukraine
Russia launched a major missile and drone attack on Kyiv yesterday killing at least 12 people and injuring over 90, including children and a pregnant woman. This was the deadliest strike on the Ukrainian capital in 2025. In response to the attack, President Donald Trump publicly urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to "STOP!" the attacks, calling them "not necessary" and "very bad timing." Trump emphasized the urgency of finalizing a peace deal, warning that the U.S. might withdraw from negotiations if progress stalls. The U.S. has proposed a peace plan that includes recognizing Russia's annexation of Crimea and freezing the current front lines, effectively leaving other occupied Ukrainian territories under Russian control. In exchange, Russia would halt hostilities, and U.S. sanctions could eventually be lifted. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has firmly rejected these terms, insisting on the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and refusing to cede any land.
2 Funeral For Pope Francis Tomorrow, Vatican Says Tomb Will Be Open For Visitation Sunday
Well over100-thousand mourners have crowded St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City since Wednesday, with the sheer number of people wanting to pay their respects causing the church to keep St. Peter’s open 23 hours, closing only for an hour yesterday morning. The funeral Mass is scheduled for tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time in St. Peter's Square, to be presided over by Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re. Following the service, Pope Francis will be interred at the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome, as per his wishes. The Vatican has requested that visitors refrain from taking photographs during the viewing to maintain the solemnity of the occasion. As of yesterday, 130 foreign delegations had confirmed they’ll be present at tomorrow’s funeral, including around 50 heads of state and 10 reigning sovereigns. The conclave to elect a new pope will start sometime in the next week or two, and shouldn’t last long…while earlier conclaves have sometimes lasted months, since 1900 the average length of the process has been three days.
