The 2024 Democratic National Convention kicks off today in Chicago with a lineup of speakers made up of the all-stars of the Democratic party. Here’s the list of reported speakers for the week according to sources:
Tonight – President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson
Tomorrow – Former First Lady Michelle Obama, former President Barack Obama, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, Illinois JB Pritzker
Wednesday – Former President Bill Clinton, Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, VP nominee Tim Walz delivers his acceptance speech
Thursday – Vice President Kamala Harris accepts the Democratic nomination for president
2 Ernesto's A Hurricane Again
Ernesto caused problems in Bermuda, and now that it’s passed the island it’s not ready to go away. Ernesto became a hurricane again yesterday as it headed to the northeastern Atlantic. Its path will take it away from land, even though the storm is forecast to strengthen. The strengthening helped lead to swells affecting the Bahamas, Bermuda, the US East Coast, and the Canadian Atlantic coast yesterday, and surf and rip current conditions are expected to remain at a life-threatening level until at least tomorrow.
3 Over 100 People Treated For Heat-Related Illness At Colorado Air Show
The two-day Pikes Peak Air Show was expecting 30,000 people to attend over the weekend, but over a hundred of the people who showed up wound up with a problem thanks to the heat. At least 10 people were hospitalized and 100 others were treated for heat-related illness at the show on Saturday in what authorities classified as a mass casualty event. Temperatures reached 96-degrees Fahrenheit on Saturday.
