1 Secretary Of Defense Orders Submarine To Middle East, Tells Aircraft Carrier To Hurry Up
As the push for a cease-fire agreement between Israel and Hamas continues, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stepped up the country’s game in the area. According to a statement from the Department of Defense yesterday, Austin has ordered a guided missile submarine to the Middle East and has told the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln strike group, which was already on the way to the region, to sail more quickly. The Lincoln strike group won’t be an increase in the amount of American firepower in the area; it’s set to replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier strike group that’s scheduled to return home. Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary, didn’t say when the USS Georgia guided missile submarine would arrive in the region. The moves come just a day after an Israeli airstrike hit a shelter in Gaza, killing at least 80 people and wounding almost 50 others in one of the deadliest attacks in the war so far.
2 Vice President Kamala Harris Says She Supports No Taxes On Tips
During a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris promised to work with Congress to raise the minimum wage and to eliminate taxes on tips. If the last part sounds familiar, it might be because that’s a policy suggestion that former President Donald Trump has been touting for months. Trump, who first mentioned the idea at a rally June 9th in Las Vegas, took to his Truth Social platform yesterday to accuse Harris of copying the idea. “This was a TRUMP idea,” he said in a post, adding, “She can only steal from me.”
3 HarrisWalz.com Sells For $15,000
Domain squatting has paid off again for Jeremy Greene Eche. Four years ago, he bought “HarrisWalz.com” for $9, along with other domains combining the names of politicians he thought might wind up on a presidential ticket. He did the same thing with “Clinton.Kaine.com,” which he sold to a senior adviser for Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign, which used it to publish negative stories about Hillary Clinton in the lead-up to the 2016 race. Both domains sold for $15,000, which isn’t a bad return on a $9 investment. As of last night, Eche didn’t know who had bought “HarrisWalz.com,” which as of last night had a bright green background behind a pixelated, lower-case “walz.”
