1 Dr. Anthony Fauci Appears Before The House Select Subcommittee On The Coronovirus Pandemic
For the first time since he left federal service over a year ago, Dr. Anthony Fauci made an appearance in front of Congress yesterday. Fauci appeared before the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic, and spent his time addressing a lot of claims made against him since the pandemic. He started talking about some of the many questions waiting for him during his opening statement, saying it’s possible the COVID-19 virus leaked from a lab, even though he denied concealing any information about the possibility. “I don’t think the concept of there being a lab leak is inherently a conspiracy theory,” Fauci said. The accusations came from Republican members of the committee, while Democrats praised Fauci and said the Republicans were unnecessarily attacking him. One of the most contentious moments came courtesy of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene who said that Fauci belonged in prison, and also accused him of signing off on experiments involving the torture of beagles. Fauci addressed another widespread theory that has circulated online for a while, saying that no viruses studied as part of “gain of function” research funded by the National Institutes of Health could have evolved into the COVID-19 virus.
2 President Biden Planning To Sign Immigrant Executive Order As Early As Today
Sources are saying that President Joe Biden is about to take action on immigration. The White House is telling lawmakers that Biden is about to sign off on an executive order that would shut down asylum requests when the average number of daily encounters hits 2,500, and staying closed until the number drops to 1,500. If those numbers stay the same, the order would go into effect immediately because the current number of border crossings is higher than 2,500. The timing is reportedly deliberate, with Biden wanting to wait until after Mexico’s elections before taking action. Several mayors of Texas towns, including Mayor John Cowen of Brownsville and Mayor Ramiro Garza of Edinburg, confirmed that they were invited to the White House for the unveiling of an executive order dealing with immigration today. It’s not clear if the president plans to sign the order today or just announce it. Several advocacy groups are already planning legal action against the executive order, which is being criticized by some Republicans as not going far enough.

It only took one day to seat a full jury of 12 plus four alternate jurors in the federal gun case against Hunter Biden in Delaware. First Lady Dr. Jill Biden was in the courtroom to support her stepson, and was heckled by an onlooker as she left. Hunter faces three counts tied to possession of a gun while using narcotics; he pleaded not guilty to all three charges. With the jury selected, opening arguments in the trail will start today.
