1 Super Tuesday Political Roundup

The results of yesterday’s Super Tuesday voting were mostly as expected, but with a few surprises. President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump racked up impressive delegate totals as the votes were counted, but neither one has the nomination locked up yet, and neither had a clean sweep of victories. President Joe Biden won almost every Democratic presidential primary yesterday, with the exception of American Samoa, which was won by virtual unknown Jason Palmer. While former President Donald Trump won almost all of the Republican primaries yesterday, former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley did manage to edge out a victory in Vermont. Donald Trump’s delegate count was up to 967 last night, with 1,215 needed to win the nomination. Joe Biden’s delegate count rose to 1,428 last night, with 1,968 needed to win the nomination.

2 Three Children Among The Five Dead In Small Plane Crash Near Nashville

Three children were among the five Canadian citizens who died in a small plane crash near Nashville yesterday. The single-engine plane came down just 60 feet away from the eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Charlotte Park. The pilot told air traffic controllers that “My engine shut down” shortly before the crash; it could take up to a year for the National Transportation Safety Board to identify a possible reason for the crash.

3 Michelle Obama's Office Says She Won't Run For President

There’s been speculation for a while that former First Lady Michelle Obama could decide to enter the race for President this year, but her office put those thoughts to rest yesterday. Her office issued a statement to NBC News saying plainly that “As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president.” Sources do say she intends to help the Biden campaign this fall, but her involvement may be limited compared to her husband.
