1 Democratic Operative Admits To Commissioning Fake Biden Robocall Last Month
A political consultant has come clean, admitting to being the man behind the campaign curtain. Steve Kramer fessed up yesterday to commissioning an AI robocall of President Joe Biden in January discouraging voters from participating in New Hampshire’s Democratic presidential primary. “With a mere $500 investment, anyone could replicate my intentional call,” Kramer stated matter-of-factly to NBC news, “The evening of Sunday, January 20th, 2 days before the New Hampshire primary, I sent out an automated call to 5,000 most likely to vote Democrats,” adding, “Using easy to use online technology, an automated version of President Joe Biden’s voice was created.” Now, the consultant is doing a 180, saying stopgaps need to be put in place to “stop people like him” from acting as copycats. Though Steve didn’t come out and say he was under orders to put out the fake calls, Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota had given Kramer over $250-thousand around the time the robocall incident, according to his campaign finance reports. However, Phillips’ press secretary Katie Dolan responded to Kramer’s statement yesterday saying, “Our campaign repeats its condemnation of these calls and any efforts to suppress the vote.”
2 AT&T Gives Outage Customers A $5 Credit
After a major network outage affected tens of thousands of AT&T customers, the company is planning to “help make it right” by giving everyone a $5 credit. “We apologize for Thursday’s network outage,” said the statement. “We recognize the frustration this outage has caused and know we let many of our customers down. We understand this may have impacted their ability to connect with family, friends, and others. Small business owners may have been impacted, potentially disrupting an essential way they connect with customers.” The 5 bucks should be applied within two bill cycles. However, AT&T doesn’t have plans to “make it right” for AT&T Business, AT&T Prepaid or Cricket customers, according to the website. As for what caused the outage, the company says “it was due to the application and execution of an incorrect process used while working to expand our network.”
3 Koch Network Says It Will Stop Funding Nikki Haley's Presidential Bid After South Carolina Loss
After Donald Trump’s sweeping victory over Nikki Haley in South Carolina, billionaire Charles Koch announced yesterday his foundation will no longer be giving funding to support Haley's presidential bid. To add insult to injury, South Carolina is Haley’s home state where she once served as governor. An email reportedly sent to various sources confirms the network's advocacy branch “no longer believes it can make a meaningful difference for her in the race,” adding that “Americans for Prosperity Action will focus its resources down the ballot on House and Senate races.” As Trump appears to be soaring toward sealing his fate for the Republican presidential nomination, Haley says she doesn’t believe Trump can will be able to overtake President Joe Biden.
