1 Wildfires, Hurricane Dora Caused Devastation In Hawaii
A giant wildfire driven by Hurricane Dora's winds has devastated the historic town of Lahaina on the island of Maui. Dozens of homes and businesses have been burned, six people have died and at least two dozen have been injured according to a press conference given by Maui County Mayor Richard Bissen yesterday. What’s more, people have been forced to jump into the water at Lahaina Small Boat Harbor in order stay ahead of the smoke and flames whipping through the town. The Coast Guard deployed a boat and helicopter to rescue people from the harbor and Front Street Beach, while multiple people had to be rescued from the water Tuesday night.
2 FBI Shoots/Kills Utah Man Who Threatened To Kill Biden And Others
The FBI is investigating the fatal shooting of a Provo, Utah man accused of threatening President Biden's life. Officials say special agents tried to take Craig Deleeuw Robertson into custody yesterday morning at 6:15am after an arrest warrant and search warrants were issued. Robertson had allegedly also been making threatening posts to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who Robertson called a political hack for prosecuting former President Donald Trump. Documents state Robertson plotted to assassinate Bragg in a parking garage, saying he was going to New York to "put a nice hole in his forehead with my 9mm.” Along with intending to kill Biden and Bragg, Robertson mentioned many other politicians, including VP Kamala Harris, New York Attorney General Letitia James, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and California Governor Gavin Newsom, according to the documents. The agency added the incident is under review by the FBI’s Inspection Division and that no FBI agents were injured. Biden was scheduled to be in Utah last night ahead of a public event today in Salt Lake City regarding veterans’ health care.
3 Diane Feinstein Home From Hospital After Fall
California Senator Dianne Feinstein is back home after going to the hospital after tripping and falling over a chair in her San Francisco home on Tuesday. A spokesperson for the 90-year-old lawmaker was taken to a hospital near her home and left later that evening. “Senator Feinstein briefly went to the hospital yesterday afternoon as a precaution after a minor fall in her home," her spokesperson said, adding, "All of her scans were clear and she returned home.” Feinstein who is the oldest member of Congress announced this past February that she wouldn’t seek reelection next year.
