1 Suspect In Killing Of Four In Georgia Shot Dead By Police

The suspect accused of killing four of his neighbors in Hampton, Georgia was killed yesterday after a manhunt by numerous law enforcement agencies. Henry County Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett said at a press conference yesterday afternoon that “The monster is dead.” Scandrett said the man exchanged gunfire with officers twice after they found him, at which point he was “neutralized” and declared dead according to Scandrett. While the suspect is dead, he leaves behind more questions than answers. Officials say the investigation is continuing and haven’t released any possible motive for the killings. The sheriff said “a couple” of officers were injured, including one who was struck in his back by gunfire. That officer was expected to survive. The four victims were identified by Hampton Police Chief James Turner yesterday as 67-year-old Scott Levitt, 66-year-old Shirley Levitt, 66-year-old Ronald Jeffers, and 66-year-old Steve Blizzard, whose vehicle the shooter stole after the killings. The last reported homicide in Hampton, a suburb of Atlanta, was in 2018.

3 Missing Alabama Woman Who Reported A Toddler Beside The Interstate Returns Home

The case of an Alabama woman who vanished after telling a 911 dispatcher that she had seen a toddler on the side of the interstate and stopped to check on the child took a strange turn Saturday morning when she knocked on her family’s door. Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell had been missing since Thursday night when a relative that was on the phone with her at the time she went missing said she heard screams and sounds of a struggle. When police arrived, they found Russell’s vehicle and some of her belongings, including her wig, phone, and purse. Police responded to the home and took Russell to the hospital for evaluation, where they also took “an initial statement.” While they are looking for answers, Hoover Police Chief Nicholas Derzis told the press that “The first thing is to give Carlee and family a little time to get themselves back together.” Derzis said that up to 50 or 60 officers were working on her case. Russell's disappearance quickly went viral on social media as people spread the news to see could be found quickly.
