1 U.S. Issues Travel Warning To Part Of Mexico Where Four Were Kidnapped, Two Were Killed
The Mexican state where four Americans were kidnapped and two were killed is under a "Do Not Travel" warning from the U.S. State Department. Thirty of the 32 states in Mexico have been under updated travel advisories from the State Department since October, with new warnings issued last month. There are 17 states where Americans are told to exercise increased caution and seven where U.S. citizens are told to reconsider travel. There are also six areas of Mexico, including the state just south of Texas where the attack took place, where the State Department has issued a Do Not Travel advisory because of crime and kidnapping threats. As we previously reported, four Americans were kidnapped from Mexico after reportedly going there for a medical procedure. The White House is monitoring the assault and kidnapping and the FBI is offering up to $50,000 for the return of the victims and the arrest of the suspects.
2 Senate Republicans Blast Tucker Carlson For Downplaying January 6th
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says it was a mistake for Fox News host Tucker Carlson to downplay the attack on the Capitol. While speaking to reporters, the Kentucky Republican said he wants to associate himself with the opinion of the Capitol Police Chief. In a memo, Chief Tom Manger said Carlson's segment was filled with offensive and misleading conclusions about the attack. Despite that, McConnell stopped short of criticizing House Speaker Kevin McCarthy for providing the Fox News host with more than 40,000 hours of security footage from January 6th, 2021. Carlson released the never-before-seen security video of the attack Monday night, claiming most of the rioters were "peaceful." Meanwhile, texts and emails from Fox News journalists and executives were made public yesterday which include top brass Rupert Murdoch’s email saying, “Maybe Sean and Laura went too far,” referring to hosts Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham’s “stolen election” coverage. What’s more, Murdoch reportedly considered some of Trump's voter fraud claims to be “bull---- and damaging.” However, he acknowledged in a deposition he did nothing to rein in hosts’ claims of 2020 election fraud.
3 Alex Murdaugh's Brother Claims Alex "Knows More" Than What He's Saying
Alex Murdaugh’s older brother is convinced he's lying about details surrounding the murder of Alex’s wife, Maggie, and son, Paul. Randy Murdaugh told the New York Times, “He knows more than what he’s saying. He’s not telling the truth, in my opinion, about everything there.” Randy went on to say that he “spent considerable time, day after day for weeks on end, calling people” for any potential leads while his brother did nothing. The older Murdaugh now says questions if he ever really knew his brother, given the lies Alex has since admitted to. Alex Murdaugh was given two life terms for the murders of his wife and son.
