1 Two Dead In Black Hawk Military Helicopter Crash In Alabama

At least two people are dead after a devastating military helicopter crash in Alabama. An official with Emergency Medical Services told reporters there were "no survivors" found in the aircraft's wreckage after it fell onto the highway yesterday afternoon. Don Webster with Huntsville Emergency Medical Services says the helicopter caught fire on impact. Authorities confirmed the aircraft was a Black Hawk that belonged to the Tennessee National Guard. The nearby army base said the helicopter was not associated with its fleet and law enforcement has not shared what led to the fatal crash. There were no reported cars or pedestrians injured as a result of the crash.

2 Ohio Residents Complaining Of Illness After Toxic Train Derailment

The Governor of Ohio says he feels for the people of East Palestine. A toxic train derailed there on February 3rd and residents are complaining of illnesses and dead animals. Republican Governor Mike DeWine says new EPA tests yesterday confirm most of the air and water is safe, but he understands why residents still don't feel safe. However, a community group is blasting the EPA for what it says is insufficient testing near the train derailment. Meanwhile, charges against a reporter arrested while covering the toxic train derailment have officially been dropped. News Nation's Evan Lambert was taken into custody last week during a press conference in East Palestine. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost said yesterday his office is dismissing the case due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Yost added "arresting a journalist reporting at a press conference is a serious matter" and state officials should "exercise a heightened level of restraint in using arrest powers" in these cases.

3 Biden Says GOP's Plan Will Add $3 Trillion To The National Debt

President Biden says legislative plans from Republicans would add substantially to the national debt. While speaking to union workers in Lanham, Maryland, Biden claimed proposals from Republicans in Congress would add another $3 trillion to the debt over the next decade. He said House Republican leaders have committed to extending expiring Trump-era tax cuts, which he claims would add $2.7 trillion to the debt. Meanwhile, Biden said his budget will strengthen Social Security and Medicare and cut the deficit by $2 trillion over ten years. The President plans to release his budget on March 9th and urged Republicans to do the same.
