1 Damar Hamlin Is Improving But Still Critical
Some very hopeful news is coming out of the hospital where Damar Hamlin is being treated. The Bills safety’s doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center have reported "substantial improvement in his condition over the past 24 hours." They went onto say his "neurological condition and function is intact" and he's "beginning to awaken." As far as motor skills go, Hamlin has opened his eyes and has been moving his hands and feet. Hamlin remains in critical condition, however, and will be staying in the intensive care unit for the time being. What is Hamlin most concerned about? Even though he’s intubated and on a ventilator, he’s able to communicate by writing things down. The first things he wanted to know was who won the Bills-Bengals game. The response? "You won the game of life."
2 Police Reveal Evidence Against Idaho Murder Suspect Kohberger
Authorities were able to match Bryan Kohberger’s DNA to the knife sheath found at the murder scene, on the bed of two of the victims, in a pretty creative way. They dug through the trash at Kohberger’s family’s house and found something with his father’s DNA on it. It was enough to match to the sheath. According to the arrest warrant affidavit, On November 13th, when the murders occurred, there were multiple videos showing what seemed to be Kohberger’s white Elantra making 3 passes by the murder house before finally stopping at 4:04 AM. Videos then show the Elantra speeding away from the house at 4:20am. What’s more, investigators claim Kohberger stalked the four college students for months before he allegedly killed them. They have records showing his cellphone pinging at the location numerous times weeks before the murder.
3 Biden Announces New Border Restrictions
President Biden is combining Trump-era restrictions with new “safe and humane” solutions at the U.S.-Mexico border. Biden announced Thursday the U.S. would turn way Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans who cross the border from Mexico illegally. Last November, border officials came up against over 80,000 migrants from those countries were attempting to enter the U.S. without proper documentation. However, the president also announced that the United States will allow up to 30,000 people from those countries to enter the U.S. by air each month. "This new process is orderly, it's safe and it's humane," Biden said in a speech at the White House. Biden also warned those seeking asylum, "Do not just show up at the border."
