1 President Biden: Junk Fees Will Be Eliminated

President Biden wants to eliminate "junk" fees like overdraft penalties from banks, hidden hotel costs and extremely high credit card late fees. Speaking at the White House, Biden said the middle class is the backbone of America and those are the people we need to be putting in the best position possible to be successful. The President said surprise overdraft fees from banks are illegal and his administration will be cracking down on those going forward. Biden said the actions his administration is taking will save American consumers over one-billion-dollars per year. Biden added that 15 of the country's biggest banks have voluntarily agreed to get rid of bounced check fees. Fans of the move, take heart – as Biden noted gas prices have gone down for the third straight week, saying he expects that trend to continue – he said more actions like this will be coming in the near future. He added he understands the frustration of the American people and he'll continue to exhaust every avenue to make sure citizens can live comfortably.

2 Supreme Court  Blocks Jan 6 Committee From Getting AZ GOP Chair Phone Records

The Supreme Court is temporarily blocking the House January 6 committee from getting the phone records of a top Arizona Republican – and it was liberal Justice Elena Kagan – that blocked enforcement of the House subpoena. She's the justice responsible for emergency applications out of Arizona. The committee is seeking the records of Arizona GOP Chair Kelli Ward over her alleged role as a phony elector in a scheme to overturn the 2020 presidential results. Ward and her husband, who are both doctors, argued that disclosing their phone records would violate medical privacy laws. The House committee now has until tomorrow to respond to Ward's request.

3 Elon Musk Carries Sink Into Twitter HQ Days Before Sale Close

Just days before Elon Musk is scheduled close the deal that’ll add Twitter to his empire, he walked into the social media company's headquarters carrying a porcelain bathroom sink. With a video of his entrance, Musk tweeted "Entering Twitter HQ…let that sink in!" Staff at Twitter's San Francisco home office reportedly got a heads-up about Musk's visit. Earlier, Musk changed his description on Twitter, where he has 110-million followers, to "Chief Twit." He has until 5pm tomorrow to complete the $44-billion deal or face the prospect of going to trial - it would appear he intends to close the deal.
