1 Biden Administration Reacts To Russia's Latest Missile Escalations
As pictures of legions of Iranian drones dropping bombs on Kyiv, Ukraine filled screens yesterday, he Biden administration says Russia's latest escalation "demonstrates Putin's brutality." Speaking with reporters, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Biden is in contact with Ukrainian President Zelensky regarding Russia's latest strikes on civilians in Kyiv. Jean-Pierre says the U.S. will continue to work with its allies to impose costs on Russia to hold the country accountable for its war crimes. Jean-Pierre said the U.S. will support Ukraine for as long as it takes. She also noted the White House has made it clear to President Vladimir Putin that the war can end as soon as he wants it to.
2 President Biden Introduces Student Loan Relief Application Portal
If you’ve got student debt, listen up – you can now formally apply for President Biden’s debt forgiveness. Speaking at the White House, Mr. Biden announced the launch of the new StudentAid.gov portal where millions of Americans eligible can apply to get their student loan debt cancelled. In his remarks, Biden said this move reflects the promises he made when he was first elected President by helping borrowers recover from the pandemic. This program is expected to benefit around 40-million people with relief up to $20-thousand for Pell grant recipients. Biden noted the move doesn't put money in pockets of those already in the top five-percent income bracket. The President also ripped Republicans for trying to reverse the relief, especially those who received large pandemic relief and PPP loans, calling them hypocrites for going against doing the same for middle class Americans.
3 Powerball Jackpot Now Tops $500M
