1 FBI Raids Trump's Mar-a-Lago Resort

Former President Trump is confirming that the FBI executed a search warrant on his Mar-a-Lago resort yesterday. “These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home… is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” Trump said in a lengthy statement issued via Truth Social. “After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate…They even broke into my safe!” While the exact reason for the search isn’t yet clear, it has been confirmed that the raid was in connection to materials Trump allegedly brought to his Florida home from the White House. That, of course, would be in violation of the Presidential Records Act…and it also wouldn’t be the first time Mr. Trump has faced such accusations. Aside from Trump being forced to return 15 boxes of documents that were improperly taken from the White House this past January, it’s also been reported that he had event tried flushing documents down the toilet. And now photos of that have surfaced as well.

2 Biden Pledges Ongoing Federal Support In Flood-Ravaged Kentucky

President Biden is promising ongoing federal support for flood-ravaged eastern Kentucky. After talking with affected residents in one neighborhood, Biden said -- "We never give up, we never stop, we never bow, we never bend; we just go forward." Biden also talked about federal aid during an earlier stop and said -- "If it's legal, we'll do it." During his remarks, Biden praised first responders for their actions during the deadly flooding, which took more than three dozen lives. But it’s other comments that are raising concern. At one point, Biden suggested it may become possible to control the weather…and at another, he essentially admitted that the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ is not about bringing down inflation – and even got the numbers wrong. As he noted that act was “helping take care of everything from health care to God knows what else,” he also misstated the cost as being “like a billion, 200 million-dollar infrastructure project,” when it’s $740-billion.

3 Olivia Newton-John Has Passed, Reportedly From Cancer

Olivia Newton-John appears to have lost her long battle with cancer. The singer passed away at age 73, with the news confirmed on her official Facebook page. While the cause hasn't been 'officially' confirmed - the entertainer has valiantly fought the disease for decades. “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” read the statement posted by her husband John Easterling. “We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.” It went on to add, “Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer,” noting, “Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.”
