1 American Killed In Ukraine, As Russia Launches Strikes On Kyiv

A 22-year-old American and former Marine fighting Russians in Ukraine has been killed. Willy Joseph Cancel was killed Monday while working as a private military contractor. His body hasn't been recovered. Cancel's mother tells CNN he went over in March because he believed in what Ukraine was fighting for. Cancel leaves behind a wife and a seven-month-old baby. "My husband did die in Ukraine," his widow, Brittany, tells Fox News Digital. "He went there wanting to help people, he had always felt that that was his main mission in life." Cancel apparently flew to Poland on March 12th. Meanwhile, the White House is hoping for quick congressional passage of a new Ukraine aid package. President Biden is asking for 33-billion dollars in additional assistance for Ukraine in its ongoing war. Press Secretary Jen Psaki called it an urgent priority.

2 Biden Considering "Some Forgiveness" In Student Loan Debt

President Biden is considering "some forgiveness" of federal student loan debt. Talking with reporters, Biden said he's "not considering 50-thousand dollars in debt reduction." That was a suggestion from Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. According to reports, Biden was more receptive to $10-thousand of “forgiveness” as suggested by CA Rep. Tony Cárdenas.There has been considerable speculation about what Biden may do about the crushing amount of student loan debt in the U.S. An aide speaking anonymously notes, “The president was incredibly receptive to that. He gave the impression that it's a priority of his, and he said he understands it’s on young people’s minds.”

3 Moderna Files For FDA Approval For Kid COVID Vaccine

Another COVID vaccine for young children could be coming soon. Moderna has just asked the FDA for approval to protect babies, toddlers and all kids under six-years-old. The drugmaker says a clinical trial shows its vaccine works on children with just two small-dose shots. Right now, only the Pfizer vaccine is available for kids five to eleven. The update comes as more children are testing positive for coronavirus, in the first increase since January. A final decision by the FDA is expected in June.
