Russia has tested an intercontinental ballistic missile – a test raising some concerns considering the ongoing war against Ukraine. But apparently. Russia formally notified the U.S. ahead of the test. That’s the word from White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki., who noted that the "timing and scope of Russia's missile tests do not influence our approach to countering Russia's further invasion of Ukraine." What does? A U.S. defense official says Russia has added 17 battalion groups over the last week in Ukraine. According to the latest U.S. assessment, there are now 82 battalion tactical groups inside the country.
2 Officials Confirm 5 People, Dog Found Dead In Minneapolis Home
Police in northern Minnesota are investigating what the police chief calls an "unimaginable tragedy." The bodies of five people and a dog were found yesterday at a home in Duluth, a city of 85-thousand on Lake Superior about 150 miles north of Minneapolis. Investigators say it appears the people were related and that a suspect was among the dead. Duluth Police say another law enforcement agency had alerted authorities about a person with access to weapons at the home where the bodies were found. While officials are tight lipped about the situation, a neighbor tells local media that the family involved were a mother, a father and two young daughters.
3 Education Department Changes To Bring Millions Closer To Loan Forgiveness
Millions of people struggling with student loans will be one step closer to debt forgiveness after changes the U.S. Department of Education plans to make to the lending system. The announcement says the Department will address "historical failures" in the federal student loan programs. Changes include reassessing payment timelines for those in income-driven payment plans and public service loan forgiveness. Meantime, more than three-and-a-half-million people will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and around 40-thousand will get immediate relief. Outstanding student loan debt in the U.S. totals more than one-point-seven-trillion dollars.
