1 Suspected NYC Subway Attacker Suspect Captured
The suspected New York City subway attacker has been captured. The man identified by police as Frank James was wanted for shooting ten people on a train while it pulled into a Brooklyn station Tuesday. NYPD Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said James was taken into custody without incident. Aside from receiving various tips, James reportedly called the police himself. Spotted in New York City’s Lower East Village – he was also spotted by locals who flagged down police. Officials say James has nine prior arrests in several states and was "known to them." While his charges on a local level are being worked out, federal officials have already charged James with carrying out terrorist attacks against a mass transit system.
2 Kremlin Fires Back At Biden's "Genocide" Comment
The Kremlin is rebuffing President Biden’s remarks charging that Russia is committing "genocide" in Ukraine. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russian officials "categorically disagree" with Biden's comment. Biden made the remark while talking about gas prices and then later told reporters his lawyers would make the final determination. Peskov said it's "unacceptable to attempt such a distortion of the situation." Of course, tens of thousands dead, use of internationally prohibited cluster bombs and murdering innocent people in the streets disagrees with Peskov. Still, a legal review is underway. U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Michael Carpenter said Biden's comments made a "clear moral determination." Carpenter says the review is ongoing and it'll take "some time to be completed."
3 Illegal Immigrants From Texas Arrive In DC
The first bus-load of illegal immigrants caught at the Texas border has arrived at the nation's capitol. This busing strategy is part of Texas Governor Greg Abbott's response to the Biden Administration's decision to end a public health rule, which has been used to expedite deportations. Abbott says his state is overwhelmed with illegal immigrants. They were from Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, and were dropped off near Union Station, in front of the building that houses Fox News, NBC News and CSPAN. A second bus is currently en route to Washington, D.C, according to the governor's office – and Abbott has also ordered migrants to be on charter flights bound for Washington DC after being processed by the Department of Homeland Security.
