1 Ukraine Rejects Russia’s Demand To Surrender Mariupol By This Morning
Ukraine's president is condemning Russia's attack on the port city of Mariupol as a war crime. In a broadcast late Saturday, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy said the attack on Mariupol would "go down in history" for "war crimes." The Mariupol City Council says Russian forces bombed an art school on Saturday where 400 residents were taking shelter. They did not mention the number of casualties. While Russia denies targeting civilians…they keep getting slaughtered courtesy of Russian bombs. With that in mind, Ukrainian officials have told Russia to keep their offer of peace – because it also came with a demand of surrender in Mariupol. But that doesn’t mean Ukraine doesn’t want peace. Appearing on CBS' Face the Nation," Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S. Oksana Markarova compared Ukraine to an innocent person being attacked by a murderer in the street. She said a person wouldn't give up an arm or a leg to stay alive, but would call the police.
