1 Biden To Talk Russian Threat With NATO Allies
President Biden is just hours from hosting a call with NATO allies about the crisis in Ukraine. He thinks a Russian invasion could happen as early as this weekend, saying the country will make excuses to justify starting a war. Secretary of State Antony Blinken calls this a "moment of peril" for millions as Russia prepares for war with Ukraine. Speaking to the UN Security Council, yesterday, Blinken rejected Russian claims of drawing down troops and said an invasion is likely in the coming days. He added Russia has amassed more than 150-thousand troops on Ukraine's borders. Blinken has urged Russia to "abandon the path to war and choose a different path, while there is still time." As for Russia’s suggestions that America is responsible for all the tension? "I am here not to start a war,” Blinken offered. “But to prevent one."
2 Trumps Must Sit For AG Deposition
A judge has ruled that former President Trump and his two children, Don Junior and Ivanka, must sit for a deposition from the New York Attorney General's Office. AG Letitia James issued the subpoenas last December, saying the Trump Organization misled banks and insurance companies. James is pursuing bank fraud charges, as the Trumps have accused her of orchestrating a "witch hunt" in a bid to further her political career. James said the family was trying to avoid explaining under oath why so many of their golf courses and buildings have wildly different values. Trump’s reaction? He’s not pleased. "Letitia James is doing everything within their corrupt discretion to interfere with my business relationships, and with the political process," Trump says in a statement. "It is a continuation of the greatest Witch Hunt in history -- and remember, I can’t get a fair hearing in New York because of the hatred of me by Judges and the judiciary. It is not possible!”
3 Former Angels Official Convicted In Skaggs OD Death
Former Los Angeles Angels communications director Eric Prescott Kay has been hit with two guilty verdicts resulting from the 2019 overdose death of pitcher Tyler Skaggs. To review, toxicology tests showed “high levels” of opioids, including fentanyl, oxycodone, and oxymorphone, as well as alcohol in Skaggs’ system. Prescott has been convicted of distributing the controlled substances the resulted in the death of Skaggs, as well as “conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute.”
