3 Things To Know Today

1 Report: Iran Has Backed Away From Previous Concessions In Nuclear Talks

Iran is walking away from all concessions it had previously made in negotiations in reviving a 2015 nuclear deal. As you might recall, President Donald Trump withdrew the US from the accord in May 2018. A senior U.S. official talking to reporters Saturday, also said the country is pushing for getting compromises from other governments and laying out new demands. Of course, ever since talks restarted, Iranian officials have been very clear that their main goal is getting sanctions lifted. Given Iran's position, along with the acceleration of its nuclear program, the official also questioned if the nuclear pact "can still survive." The setback comes as the U.S. deals with tensions on multiple fronts abroad, from an escalating situation between Russia and Ukraine, along with tension between China and Taiwan.

2 After Manhunt, Parents Of MI School Shooting Suspect Plead Not Guilty

The parents of the accused Michigan school shooter are pleading not guilty to all four counts of involuntarily manslaughter against them. That is, now that they’ve been caught. Officials say James and Jennifer Crumbley skipped out on turning themselves into police on Friday as promised - and after withdrawing $4-thousand from an ATM. A manhunt ensued. The Crumbleys were arraigned in a Pontiac courtroom Saturday morning just hours after being taken into custody in Detroit. A judge set bond at a half-million-dollars each after prosecutors argued the pair remain a flight risk. They’ve each been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter – and each count is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. As for why the pair are facing charges at all, police say James Crumbley bought the gun their 15-year-old son used to kill four classmates and wound seven others. They are also accused of not stowing the weapon and failing to intervene when they were made aware of a potential problem. They reportedly didn’t ask their son about the gun or inform the school that they had recently purchased one either.
